About Us

Wychwood Farms began life at Quarry Hill Farm in Shipton-under-Wychwood, nestled in the rolling hills of rural Oxfordshire. At its heart is a farmer who’s equal parts action man and craftsman, often found herding livestock across the fields, or driving a tractor one moment and restoring a derelict barn the next.

Driven by a deep love for the land and its legacy, he’s built more than just a working farm. He’s breathed new life into old buildings, transforming forgotten outbuildings into soulful holiday stays that celebrate the character and history of the Cotswolds.

Rooted in traditional methods and guided by regenerative principles, Wychwood Farms uses animals not only for produce but as stewards of the land, managing pastures, enriching the soil, and shaping a wilder, more sustainable countryside.

“Rumour has it that Judds Grave (the crossroads from Shipton to Leafield) got its name from Henry Judd’s coffin which went missing there in a snowstorm after the First World War. Whatever the truth, it did not stop Rob Biles from buying Quarry Hill Farm (the house on the right) in 2015 along with five acres of pasture."
